'''CheckUser''' is a special tool on Test Wiki. The tool allows users in the <code>checkusers</code> group to check and view the IP addresses and other technical information about user accounts. This information is usually considered private, and therefore CheckUser access will not be granted to anyone who is not a steward and/or sysadmin, and will only be granted to the most trusted stewards and sysadmins. Additionally, no steward nor sysadmin should retain CheckUser rights indefinitely - they should only assign them to themselves or others when they are needed each time. This is for purposes of transparency, as the CheckUser log is not publicly visible. Users with CheckUser access can perform CheckUsers through [[Special:CheckUser]] and view a log of such actions at [[Special:CheckUserLog]]. Occasionally, CheckUsers will block accounts and/or IP addresses based on private data - these blocks will be marked with <code><nowiki>{{CheckUser block}}</nowiki></code> or <code><nowiki>{{Checkuserblock-account}}</nowiki></code> in the block log. Non-CheckUsers must not overturn such blocks without permission from a CheckUser.

CheckUser is a special tool on Test Wiki. The tool allows users in the checkusers group to check and view the IP addresses and other technical information about user accounts. Users with CheckUser access can perform CheckUsers through Special:CheckUser and view a log of such actions at Special:CheckUserLog. Occasionally, CheckUsers will block accounts and/or IP addresses based on private data - these blocks will be marked with {{CheckUser block}} or {{Checkuserblock-account}} in the block log. Non-CheckUsers must not overturn such blocks without permission from a CheckUser.
